Short Wave Ultraviolet for Disinfection

UV-C is always the wavelength range used for disinfection applications. In fact 253.7 nm is called the germicidal wavelength (it is also called short wave). Any SW UV lamp (bulb) can be used for irradiation purposes to disinfect objects or surfaces. The more the UV output the higher the irradiation rate and the better the disinfection job. Only microorganisms that are in direct contact with the SW UV will be affected or killed.

Killing of microorganism involves several factors. Most of those factors are discussed in the FAQ – General Questions, in question 36.

The TripleBright 3 model WOCLS is specifically designed for irradiation applications to disinfect air, some materials, surfaces, or water.
